Perito Moreno is one of the glaciers located in the National Park of Los Glaciares.

They all form the continental ice cap of Patagonia (an area of 17,000 km), one of the most important drinkable water reserves in the world. 90% of the fresh water on planet Earth can be found in the glacier areas.

Our region is third after the Antartic and Groenland. It is situated beween 47° and 51° degrees southern latitude. It reaches as far as the fjords in Chile and the Argentine lakes. The Northern continental ice cap is located completely in neighbouring Chile, while the Southern continental ice cap of Patagonia is divided between the two countries.

In it all the glaciers of the National Park originate. Perito Moreno stands out. Tourists can go till 300 to 400 meters of the glacier tongues.
